What it does
Every week the same jobs: find the stems, drag them in, change the key, put the songs in order, mark the sections. Precentor does them in one go.

Makes practice tracks: each song in this week's key and arrangement, with one part taken out (drums, bass, keys, guitar or vocals) and an optional click.Practice
Precentor doesn't include or license any music. Many multitrack stores don't allow mixes made from their stems to be shared, even within your own team — share practice tracks only if you recorded the songs yourself or your license clearly allows it.

The session it builds
Three songs in one Ableton Live 12 session: each song with its own tempo and key, its sections marked, a click and a guide track on top.

Where the name comes from
A precentor is the one who leads the singing. In the Psalms, many songs are headed “To the chief Musician”: the person who led the music of the house of worship. That is the job Precentor helps with every week.
Say it pree-SEN-ter.
